About the Role:
We are expanding our operations in Spain and are looking for a Senior Accountant to provide accounting support and ensure compliance with local financial regulations.
This is a fully hands-on, independent role that requires initiative and daily involvement in all financial processes - from bookkeeping and payroll to statutory reporting, allowances, travel orders and communication with authorities.
What you'll be responsible for:
- Defining and continuously improving accounting policies in line with business needs.
- Representing the company before auditors, tax authorities, and state institutions.
- Preparing annual work plans and supervise employees to achieve goals.
- Setting performance indicators, monitor results, and improve efficiency.
- Managing reporting processes and ensure timely preparation of financial reports (monthly, periodic, annual, consolidated) in line with regulations.
- Monitoring accounting and tax legislation and providing guidance for compliance.
- Coordinating with auditors and authorities; consult within area of expertise.
- Supporting the alignment of accounting processes across the group.
- Overseeing payroll processes and ensure compliance with legal and internal regulations.
It would be great if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, with 5+ years of relevant experience
- Strong knowledge of local accounting, tax, and financial regulations (mandatory submission of all legal reports; i.e. 347, 349, VAT, CIT)
- SAP experience is mandatory
- Proven track record of delivering quality results on time and ability to make data-driven decisions
- Hands-on professional, adaptable, open to feedback and strong in teamwork
- Excellent organizational and people development skills, with potential to build and mentor a future team
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office
- Fluency in English
- Category B driving licence
- Experience in distribution industry is a plus
